CoWorks WV was founded by business owners, Jeremy Turner of EPIC Mission and Bryan Shaw of Scaleable Ventures, Inc. along with the generous support of the Hankins Management team to open the doors of Huntington’s first coworking space in June, 2018.
Jeremy Turner, a native of Huntington, WV, is the Founder and Managing Director of EPIC Mission. Since earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Marshall University in 1997, Jeremy has served in leadership roles for industry giants and grassroots startup ventures within the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Mr. Turner is a DISC-Certified Behavioral Consultant and a Certified Coach with Ministry Ventures. Jeremy has broad-ranging professional experience and a voracious appetite for self-directed learning, and he is currently pursuing his MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship and family enterprise.
Mr. Turner is a sought-after coach, consultant, speaker, and trainer, and has worked with many groups on topics including board development, succession planning, strategic planning, organizational development, social enterprise, and fund development to name a few. These skills and experiences continue to prove valuable as he and his team acquire and serve new clients, primarily throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
Bryan is a native and life-long resident of West Virginia, a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, certified GrowthWheel advisor, with 15+ years of experience with Fortune 500 companies in product development, marketing, and B2B Sales. In 2014 he launched his first startup consulting and web development company Scaleable Ventures, Inc. and also co-founded a local coffee roasting company, Hill Tree Roastery.
Past experiences have created opportunities for him to partner in entrepreneurial initiatives with West Virginia University, Marshall University, Southern WV CTC, the WV Department of Education, Robert C. Byrd Institute, Advantage Valley and the WV Small Business Development Center, where he provided business coaching to those looking to start a new business or expand their established business. He most recently developed the curriculum and program for WV’s first business accelerator TEN50 through the Robert C. Byrd Institute. In its first year, the program worked with 20 WV based startups as they developed, launched, and expanded their businesses.
